Slight chance for Rain

At my age, there is a 20% chance that I will get pregnant each month.  I have all my hopes on getting pregnant the first month.   This past weekend there was an 20% chance that it would not rain, Derek and I headed out with our umbrella and boots on... it later rained-of course.  Apparently practicality is thrown out the window already.

New nickname

It might be the latest rage to have cute names for your bun in the oven but I'm totally loving the new nickname Derek has given me- his little incubator.   Every morning I've been taking my temperature and we still have our fingers crossed that we'll get lucky on our first try.

Things you can't do while Pregnant

I've been checking some things off the list lately to bring us closer to officially "not trying to prevent us from having a baby."  As Derek likes to put it so there isn't as much pressure.  code- trying to keep me from being obsessive about bbt etc.  So here's some things I've been up to lately to help us get more in the mindset!

1. I knew we'd be trying within at least a year so this fall I dyed my hair blonde to have some fun.  I loved it and Derek loved it.

Then for fun I dyed it red.  I was a red haired vixen and continuously felt sultry.  It was amazing and I loved it.

But you can't dye your hair while your pregnant. I mean, you can but let's just keep it as safe as possible here.  So just before Christmas I went and dyed my hair back to brown with hopes that it will grow out/fade and I won't have to worry about it.  That day in the chair was a debacle, Derek had to come visit me, my hair was green- I'm glad it's over and back to brown.  To be honest, dying my hair was fun, but I've always really enjoyed my natural color and think it looks really nice on me.  Derek has hopes that one day I'll be a "soccer mom" and dye my hair blonde again.  It may well happen!  But for now, I'm ready for the brown again.  C'mon- it's so pretty  :)

2.  I needed oral surgery (another gum graft) so instead of waiting and putting off the pain I bumped it up and tried not to think about it.  ( 3 teeth! owwww) When I would get nervous I told myself it would be good practice for the epidural.  I'm writing this on day two of my recovery and as I sit here with a golf ball sized jaw I'm soo thankful for vicodin!  Can't take that while pregnant!!

Two steps closer y'all--two steps.
