Last week was a good one for getting some baby things. There was a local sale that I hit up and scored some major finds. (please excuse the bad photos)
I'm in love with this baby bathtub. We already have one for a toddler but this thing is great! It's antimicrobial, unpops to hang against a door flat and is this great soft foam. I scored it for $15, selling price $40. I can't wait to see our little newborn in the kitchen sink taking a bath cradled gently in the puj.
These two were unexpected finds that were luxuries I was probably going to ask for at Christmas. A wipes warmer in great condition ($6). And a fleece JJ Cole Bundle me carrier cover perfect for walks in the winter and not worrying if my little one is too cold-keeps all those precious limbs inside. This was a steal at $5, I already had it on my amazon wishlist retailing at $43!! Score!
The big splurge was on a bassinet though. I love the moses basket and had looked at them on craigslist and figured we'd just go without. I spied this set first thing at the sale though and put it aside to think about. I just love the idea of having it next to our bed for the first little bit and then next to the couch where we can see our child sleeping peacefully and rock her at the same time. I paid $70 for it and have a bit of buyers remorse. All the bedding has to come out because the bumpers are so big, but Derek mentioned maybe we can use it when we're watching her-we'll see. I don't mind sewing new bed linens though and I know I'll be glad to have it. Super cute don't you think? And yes, that's it's original packaging :)
I think it was a pretty successful trip, which is a good thing, because this day turned out to be my worst so far in this pregnancy.
This week we also visited with the nurse at UNC Hospitals. It was a major let down, even though I was prepared for it to be so. They took blood and told us there were basically no appointment times ever that would make it easy for Derek to attend the appointments. So, we'll have to skype him in. He was sad, as was I. I love that he wants to go to all of them though; I love that he wants to be involved. We did pick up this binder though full of tips etc. Maybe this pregnancy thing is real after all?
